This is your favorite reporter, Jillian Covell, back again. The Persians facing the Greeks again. With that the Spartans are at the hot gates in Thermopylae with their phalanx up and running. The Persians' numbers are cut down to size and I don't think Xerxes, their leader, is to happy. Leonidas, the Spartan general, is holding the phalanx wonderfully and is ready to make no mistakes.
Whoa! What? Persians invading from the back! Well let's see about this.
"Leonidas? Who told the Persians about this mountain pass?"
"It was Ephialtes! Traitor!" bellowed Leonidas.
"How are your soldiers fighting?"
"We defeated their first line easily along with their Immortals. I love the way this is going but I know we are going to lose. That's why I sent that warning!"
"Thanks."
The Spartans just commanded the rest of the Greeks to leave and let everyone else know to leave before the Persians come to destroy the cities. Leonidas didn't want to lose a whole army but the Thespians stayed to have the honor of dying in war.
"Xerxes? Tell me a little about the battle so far?"
"We are winning and I'm headed to burn down Athens!"
"Thanks!"
Xerxes did just that. He went straight to Athens and burned it to the ground. Then he suddenly felt regret and tried rebuilding the dark and gloomy city.
