Islamic AchievementsSome Islamic achievements include medicine, science, arts, mathematics, geography, literature, astronomy, algebra, engineering, and the theory of disease.
I believe that medicine is the greatest achievement the Islamic people made. One reason is because of their advancements in the medical field some diseases were able to be cured or almost cured. Another reason is because of their theory on how disease spreads. One scientist created the theory that disease spreads though particles in the air. The final reason is that most of their medicines they used are still in practice today or have been modified to cure or help the disease. The Greeks, Persians, and Romans had a great influence on Islamic achievements. Greeks pushed the Muslims to create medicine and improve. The Islamic people spread their advancements to the Persians, Romans, and Greeks, too. |
King John and William the Conqueror |
*Greedy, unfair, self-centered, taxes, terrible, fair
He was a very greedy king. He wanted everything for himself and made sure he got it. King John was very unfair to the people. He came after a long line of great kings and was absolutely terrible. Everything he did revolved around himself. Anything he did had one purpose: to improve his life. John raised taxes up and up until the poor couldn't afford it anymore. All he wanted was more money. At the end of his unfair reign he was forced to sign the Magna Carta. *Expand- He expanded his territories into Normandy *Fair- William didn't really change anything when he became king. *Fight- William fought very hard for the throne. He traveled for a long time and almost died trying to get over to England. *Devoted-William was very devoted to the people of England. He fought for the throne and never gave up until he ruled. *Adventurous-He chose to travel to England. He looked for adventure every where he went. *Fearless- William went into battle many times and you have to be fearless to keep going into battle. |
Magna Carta |
The Magna Carta was signed June 15, 1215. The Magna Carta protected the liberties of the nobles, outlined rights of English ordinary people, and kept the taxes from being increased. This piece of paper put supreme power of England in the law not in the King's hands.
The Magna Carta was very influencial when the Bill of Rights was being changed. The Magna Carta pointed out the individual rights of each person and so does the Bill of Rights. |
